This applies to all the Nordic countries, I think. I’ve often heard from foreigners and such that they think the people here in Sweden are very cold and unsocial. But as said before: Different cultures, different behavior. And it’s not like we’re emotionless or mean or so, we’re just not as open all the time, especially not towards complete stangers. Same in Norway, I guess.

Yah yah.. I know. It was so much easier to write everyday when I wasn’t working. Now it takes discipline…. the kind I have been lacking. I am of the wandering mind sort. I tend to get myself into little projects that distract me.. Good news is summer is coming.

Yes. Funny the cultural differences. Norwegians act much more normal American when they have had about three drinks. I have seen this. When my parents came to visit and we were at the store, I kind of was embarrassed because they were just talking loudly and everyone was looking at them. Every culture has its norms.

funny thing is, americans find us closed up and “expressionless” while we find them to be vulgar, obnoxious and shallow. “HIIII HOW AAAREEE YOU” and they don’t even care to listen for your answer. In Norway when someone ask you how you are they are interested in hearing the answer as well. Americans on buses in Oslo typically act very rudely; they talk very loudly, bragging and shouting. It’s considered vulgar and obnoxious, simple as that. The first time I saw an American family on public transportation here i was convinced they were drunk, but i later realized that’s their culture and way to behave..
