Let Me Explain

I am really trying to get in the writing mood again. I decided to post regardless of what was going on in the brain. This is leading to some interesting posts. The last one is a good example. I already have different feelings about it.
I am really worried that McCain may take this election. I decided to visit some very red state websites to see what was going on there. I swear they, minus the typical talking points you hear daily, sound very confident. I felt like commenting and challenging many of the bullshit comments, but decided against it. If they don’t get it yet, well… you now the rest.
What really disturbs me is all the videos I have seen from the people entering the McCain/Palin rallies. They are so ignorant. All the debunked shit still flies out of their mouths. Little do they know that they are supporting people who are not looking out for their best interests at all.
The scariest thing is, many of them look like normal, everyday people until they open their mouths.

Dr. Pants … you have to really look at this video. The Obama people are organized and United. The McPalin people look like a bunch of hillbilly rubes who lather themselves up in lies and rinse them off with Rush Limbaugh spit.
I realize that it must be scary to see from way up there where the sun isn’t shining very much during the day, but here … Obama is going to win. If not … do you have room for a family of 5???

I take your point about the organization. I am just amazed at the crazy people I see that are so ‘normal’ looking. I think this video will shock more people around the world than it will most Americans.
As for a place to stay… welllll…5?

Hi Dr Pants.
I hope you consider yourself lucky you’re away. We are sick and tired of the 24/7/365 news coverage on the election & politics. It seems like half the news every day is about politics. Add to that that half the ads on TV are political. The amount of airtime spent on minutia, he said / he said, did this / did that, attack / counter attack … is just insane. Worst are the continuous propagation of lies, half truths and fear mongering in attack ads. We even get ads from out of state!
Since polls and the biggest news media conglomerates seem to favor B.O. over J.Mc.C. for a few months, things are getting a bit more tense every week. From time to time we see such behavior, as in the video you linked, covered on the national stations in their extra news programming. It honestly makes me fear for the US in general and certainly the next president himself if B.O. were to win next week.
Time will tell.
I will just be glad when everything is counted properly and we can start moving on. I was in Tallahassee, FL in 2000 (cough cough)
PS: I saw W in theatre last week. Certainly not a bad movie, but I expected a bit more. Hard to put my finger on what though. It just seemed a bit lacking.

I hear ya. I’ve given up trying to persuade “anyone.” The only thing that scares me is if I’m right and the wrong nomf destroys everything. Wait, they’re doing that NOW! Ah well, maybe in next life(endless cycle).

For the first time in, well, as long as I can remember, I am looking at my homeland with a smile. Finally some relief!
I have had almost no sleep the last two days. I probably won’t remember writing this tomorrow.

Join me in the journey to gather enough bottles and cans to pay off the war debt that’s been off the budget for 6 years. Whatever the official deficit is, at least double it. Thank God for the bottle bills.
