Discopants and Haircuts

Well, I didn’t mention yet that I am now an English teacher in Norway.. I teach at a vocational school. I have not one female in any of my classes. All my students are training to be carpenters, masons, mechanics, plumbers and concrete workers. They range in age from 15 to 20 and, although good kids, are not the easiest to get interested in English.

The teachers here are great. Very supportive. High quality people. I really can’t complain. They helped out a lot last week when I couldn’t come to school on the account of being so sick.

And the job is sweet. I teach 15 hours a week, get a laptop and my own little office. I was originally supposed to be working for only 2 weeks when I was given the position. That has turned into a contract until January and, hopefully, will continue until the end of the year. They really like me here. They say I give a fresh perspective in the school. Pretty Cool.
Well, I am back from the illness. I am sitting in my office right now… . I started a book called Vernon God Little with my only class today. They hemmed and hawed about having to read a book but, you know, they seemed to get into it. Damn, I got into it. It’s a damn funny book.

And wouldn’t you know? The guy, the one  I bribed the other night to allow me to use his broadband for a few weeks, decided he didn’t want to share anymore. What a dick. He said his girlfriend is afraid I will look at what websites she is visiting. Idiots.
