Discopants and Haircuts

I am sitting here, listening to The Band, at 2:42 am. I’m tired. I’m also having a few drinks celebrating the last days of vacation. Cheers Vacation. Coming up is a big move, a big test and a big (hopefully) job. It’s been a long, almost, 3 years.
I just got off the phone with my buddy Robb in Orlando. Damn. I miss my friends and family back home. I really didn’t think I wouldn’t see them all for so long.

Don’t Think Twice.. It’s Alright..

Those million or so of you running Wordpress may be doing a search for embedding video into your entries. Well, I did the same search and kept coming across extensions and more extensions that looked promising but weren’t very quick.

Well through trial and much error I figured this out. It’s really quite simple. Follow these steps:

1. In the admin section and goto WRITE.  Scroll to the bottom of the page.

2. Click, hold and drag the ‘Press It-Your Site‘ up to the bookmark bar.

3. Goto the video you want to embed, be it Youtube or VSocial (I’m sure it works with others but those are the ones I tried)
4. Copy the code that says embeddable player.

4. Click on the Press It link that you just dragged to your bookmarks bar.

5. A window should pop up. ( Note: I noticed that sometimes the window ends up hiding behind the page your on)

6.  Highlight the code that shows up in the field where you write.

7. Paste over it with the embed code.

8. Write whatever else you want, choose a category(ies) double check  and ….

9. Before you publish you should know that if you use the rich text editor (the thing that let’s you link, or add pictures without entering any code) then once you publish you won’t be able to edit the entry without losing the embedded video! The only thing to do is delete the entry and restart the process. I use this all the time and it works great..
