I got the results of my second practice test. This one was level 3, High School Level. There were two parts. I got 50% on part 1, 65% on part 2. I needed 70% to pass. So close!
The good news is my Norwegian has improved. The bad news is it’s not yet at a high school level.
We have eight weeks left until the official Norwegian Test. I’m hoping I improve by then. I am really gunning for a teaching position by the start of the next school year.
It’s a strange thing when what used to sound like gobbledy-gook begins to make sense. Suddenly I feel less isolated. One thing I will pass on to all those who a learning a foreign language, it takes time. You will have days that nothing makes sense, days when you are really rocking, and weeks when it feels like you haven’t improved. You’ll get through it…

Good for you! That’s awfully close, you know. I find, by the way, when learning a foreign langauge, that all my break through moments came when more than a bit drunk. Just saying. Hope all the family are good!

As I recall, 50% and 65% were common grades for you in high school back in the states. You didn’t have a problem with ‘those’ grades… what gives, you trying to be a brain?
